General Information

Why is Black Diamond doing this recall?
Black Diamond has discovered one Camalot™ and two Camalot™ Ultralights that were improperly manufactured, and we are concerned that more may exist and may have been sold to consumers. We are undertaking this recall to make climbers aware of this risk and to ensure that any improperly manufactured Camalots™ and Camalots™ Ultralight are removed from use.
What is the technical reason for this recall?
In a very small percentage of Camalot™ and Camalot™ Ultralights, the axles connecting the cam lobes to the stem may not be properly riveted. This could cause the device to not be full strength or to possibly come apart during use.
How many Camalots™ with defects have been found?
As of April 12, 2016, we have found one unit that was incorrectly riveted. No injuries have been reported.
